Car ploughs into drinkers sitting on terrace outside bar in Costa del Sol
A car has plowed into several people sat on a terrace at a bar in the Costa del Sol holiday resort of Marbella.
Police and paramedics rushed to the premises in an area of the town centre near the beachfront which is full of cafes and eateries and is hugely popular with tourists.
Distressing images published in the last few minutes show casualties being tended to by well-wishers as police cordon off the scene.
Videos posted on social media show chairs and tables on the floor as officers deal with the incident.
Police have not confirmed how many people have been hurt and whether anyone could have been killed.

According to El EspaƱol, five people have been injured in the incident at 3.25pm today and have been taken to Costa del Sol Hospital.
One of the injured people is said to be in a serious condition, Diario Sur reports.
The newspaper said the driver is understood to be a 30-year-old Spanish citizen who was travelling in the vehicle with his parents.
A local resident claimed that the person who was driving the car has been taken away by five or six police officers.
The man will be questioned by police, and it is believed he will undergo a breathalyser test and drug tests.


The bar where the incident happened is in a street called Avenida Miguel Cano, near the spot where holidaymakers start tours of the Marbella in horse-drawn carriages.
Police have yet to make any official comment on the incident.
Fully-vaccinated British holidaymakers are now spared quarantine when they return to the UK from Spain.
The new rule came into effect today.
It comes as Spain is considering tighter coronavirus regulations amid a rise in the number of cases over the last few weeks.
Authorities are reportedly considering bringing back night-time curfews if they can persuade the courts to reverse a decision that ruled they were unnecessary.
In the Balearics, the regional government is working with experts to prepare a raft of restrictions to include new limitations on the number of people who can meet up.
