How to get Paramount on your TV
Sure, weâre all locked in our homes and the goal posts for freedom keep getting moved. But, the good news is that there is a brand new streaming service in town to keep us all entertained in our confinement. Paramount Plus is here with plenty of new shows and movies.
And sure, with Netflix, Stan (owned by Nine, which owns this masthead), Binge, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, Apple TV+ ABC iView, Nine Now, Seven Plus, Ten Play, SBS On Demand, Kanopy, YouTube, the library, and free-to-air TV, we perhaps werenât desperate to sign up to another $9 a month streaming service. But, Paramount Plus has Lana Parilla starring in a new season of Why Women Kill, and if thatâs not worth $9 Iâm not sure what is.

The rebranded 10 All Access (which itself was a rebrand of CBS All Access) actually has a pretty decent if not overly extensive exclusive line-up, so itâs worth checking out at least for the 7-day free trial period. And while you can watch it in a web browser on a computer, hereâs how to get it on your TV so you can see it on the big screen.
Itâs easiest if you have an Android TV (Hisense, Philips, Sharp and Sony are the main brands with this operating system), because then you can just download the Paramount Plus app from the Play Store. The app itself is free to download, and then you just need to log in to start watching.
If you donât have an Android TV, the app is also on many set-top boxes: Apple TV, Google TV, Fetch TV, and Amazon Fire TV. On all of those itâs the same deal; download the app for free from the store, and then sign up to get your free trial or sign in to your paid account.
If you donât have any of those solutions, but your TV or set-top box supports AirPlay or Chromecast, you can try downloading the app to your phone or tablet and then sharing it to your TV from there.
Those should be enough options to suit most people, but if you have an older TV that doesnât do AirPlay or Chromecast, or you rely on an Xbox or PlayStation for your smart content, then all you need is patience (and another device to tide you over). Apps for other platforms are likely being built or approved now, so it shouldnât be too long to wait.
