Family of anti-vaxxer who died of Covid after mocking jab urge people to get one
The devastated family of an anti-vaxxer nightclub manager who died of Covid have urged people to get the jab.
David Parker, 56, had shared Facebook posts that were opposed to getting the vaccine.
One public posting of an image detailing why he would not get the jab was shared just weeks before his death from the disease.
Mr Parker was the manager of Club Louis in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire.
Announcing his death this week the club said in a statement: âIt is with enormous regret that we have to announce the passing of our manager, David Parker.
âHe was being treated for the effects of Covid in Darlington Memorial Hospital, but lost his struggle this afternoon.
Many tributes were left after his death(

âOn behalf of the whole Louis Family, we offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed.
âA pragmatic man, David would want the show to go on, so we remain open with the families agreement, further information will be announced in due course.â
The Sun reports that his devastated relatives have pleaded with other sceptics to put their doubts aside and get the vaccine.
Friend Steve Wignall said: âHis family are devastated, they were very close and loved each other dearly.
âBut despite their terrible loss they would like it to be known that theyâre encouraging everyone to please get vaccinated because they donât want others to suffer as they are now.â

David had posted messages online criticising the vaccine in the lead-up to this death.
In one post he said: âI feel the need to post information on here for people that arenât receiving another side to the story due to media not being impartial.
âWhen research is done into who finances the media it leads to the pharmaceutical companies. Who knows who is right or wrong. If Iâm wrong Iâll hold my hand up but I will not stay silent.â
He added: âI am still not getting this experimental vaccine until more information is available on long term effects.â
Relatives have also responded to some of the posts he has shared via Facebook.
One wrote: âRIP Uncle David, Iâd youâd had the vaccine it could have saved you.â
Another said: âI didnât realise he hadnât had the vaccines. I had Covid 4 weeks ago and without both my jabs I honestly think I would of been very poorly.
âHope you are all ok ⦠you are all in my thoughts.â
